It has a thick cover with a rutile character. According to AS R-116, the mechanical properties of the welding metal obtained are higher due to the high amount of basic components in its cover. The source metal has high resistance to cracking. Slag gets easy and high quality smooth welding seams are obtained. It is easy to ignite and retract the pre-source electrode.
